Comparisons between diabetic and non-diabetic patients diagnosed with prostate cancer in China: a retrospective study
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a considerably common public health problem, which is associated with severe complications. In China, considerably increasing people are diagnosed as DM each year.It has been reported that DM has an increased risk of several neoplasm, notably cancer of the pancreatic, liver, breast, bladder and colon.1 However, there is a growing epidemiologic literature suggesting an inverse association between history of diabetes and risk of prostate cancer (PCa).One meta-analysis for papers published between 1971 and 2002 indicated an inverse association (HR:0.91,95% CI:0.86,0.96) in 2004.
