Protein and fat digestibility of some non-conventional fish meal replacers incorporated in the diets of fish Clarias batrachus (Linn.)

摘要:

Groups of 4 C. batrachus, 67.53 g mean weight, were stocked into 8 tanks. Three test diets incorporating silkworm pupae and shrimp waste (SW), silkworm pupae and clam meat (CM) and goat blood meal (BM) were formulated with a fish meal-based diet asthe reference diet (FM). Diets were fed for 20 days. Protein digestibility values for diet CM (90.29%) were comparable to those for the reference diet FM (91.58%); the value for SW was 89.68%. Digestibility values for fat were poor for SW and CM (82.98 and 83.73%, respectively) compared with the reference diet (91.01%). Blood meal showed poor digestibility for protein (60.35%) and fat (71.61%).
