摘要篇首: Recent studies showed that a type of insertion/deletion (I/D) polymorphism of angiotensin converting-enzyme (ACE) gene was associated with coronary heart disease (CHD) and essential hypertension (HTN).1,2 It was also found that this polymorphism was related to the susceptibility of microvascular complication in type 1 diabetes-nephropathy (DN).3,4 We report here 233 Chinese cases to clarify if ACE gene I/D polymorphism attributes to the development of type 2 diabetes and its renal complication.
