摘要篇首: Spermatogenic (stem) cells, or spermatogonial stem cells, are the only cell type in postnatal mammals, which have the capability to self-renew and to contribute geneticinformation to the next generation. The manipulation of spermatogenic cells and the modification of their genomes have great significance for the treatment of male sterility,for gene therapy via germ cells, as well as for building transgenic animal models. 1 In this assay, we analyzed the efficiency of EffecteneTM reagent-mediated gene transfection into spermatogenic cells. The effect of transplants with different time schedules on transfection efficiency and on gene expression was also investigated.
