摘要篇首: Anticholinergic drugs are classified as bronchodilators and are commonly prescribed as such in clinical management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), as the cholinergic tone appears to be the only reversible component of COPD. The famous UPLIFT (the Understanding Potential Long-term Impacts on Function with Tiotropium) trial showed that in patients with COPD, therapy with tiotropium was associated with improvements in lung function, quality of life, and fewer exacerbations during the 4-year trial period.1
