摘要Snapping scapula is an uncommon condition described as palpable, audible,or painful crepitus of the scapula that causes diminished quality of life.Until now it isstill a largely under-recognized problem because of its diverse causes. The etiology of the problem is mainly divided into three major categories:bursitis, muscle abnormality, and bony or soft-tissue abnormality.1-4 Muscle trauma may be a rarely seen cause. However, rhomboideus major avulsion as a cause of snapping shoulder has not been reported in the literatures. We herein report a patient with snapping scapula that was caused by partial avulsion of the rhomboideus major insertion on the edge of the scapula and describe its arthroscopic treatment.
