Thymic carcinosarcoma consisting of sarcomatous and adenosquamous carcinomatous component

摘要A46-year-old female patient was admitted to our hospital in July 2010,complaining of chest discomfort for 20 days.There was no ptosis,dysphagia,dysarthria,or other signs of myasthenia.Chest X-ray and computed tomographic scanning demonstrated a large non-lobulated mass located in the left anterior mediastinum with adhesion to the left lung,combined with small amount of effusion in left pleural cavity(Figure 1A and 1B).Physical examination was unremarkable.Laboratory data were normal.Electromyogram was unremarkable.The patient underwent a video-assisted thoracoscopic exploration.Intraoperatively,after draining of 300 ml bloody fluid,mnltiple nodules were found on the surface of parietal and visceral pleura.
