摘要Scalp avulsion is a severe injury.It only occasionally occurs in an industrial accident.Often a sudden entanglement and the instinctively instantaneous pull-out of the long hair into a high-speed rotary machine leads to the disaster.If the damage could not be restored through microsurgery,other methods,including simply replacing the avulsed scalp,or free flap graft from other part of the body,could not live up to aesthetic and functional demand,causing long-time psychological distress.1Reviewing the literature,surgical scalp replantation is not rare.2-5 This report demonstrates a successful salvage in scalp avulsion following hair entrapment in a spinning machine.The clinical result,microvascular quality,and pre-operative management,such as avulsion preservation,blood loss evaluation,and wound compression for bleeding cessation,will also be discussed.
