摘要BACKGROUND: Development of essential hypertension (EH) in the offspring has significant correlation with maternal EH.In addition, mtDNA mutations are related with elevated blood pressure, but the underlying mechanism is unclear.Based on a study with small sample size and two pedigrees maternal family members, we tried to investigate potential mechanisms of how EH characterized with maternal inheritance was caused by mitochondrial mutations.
