There are key physiological distinctions between the RV and LV.The RV is tolerant of preload but intolerant of raised afterload.In the normal RVperfusion occurs throughout the cardiac cycle.Sizefunctionseptal position and estimated pulmonary artery pressure are key to assessment of the RV using TTE.RV dysfunction may occur with few clinical findings and requires a high index of suspicion for diagnosis.
