abstractsIntercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1),a member of the immunoglobulin family,is one of the adhesion molecules, it participate processes of many inflammatory reactions and immune reactions in the body through adhesion and interaction between the mediated-cell,cell-extracellular matrix.ICAM-1 is better studied in the pathogenesis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). In this paper,the origin,structure and role of ICAM-1 in the pathogenesis of COPD are reviewed.
