abstractsRecently a group of special dendritic cells called plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDC) are recog-nized, and have been proved toplay an important role in immune response and tolerance, pDCs are special-ized in rapidly secreting massive amounts of type I IFN after being activated. They also promote the functionof natural killer ceils , B cells, T cells, and other subtypes of dendritic cells through type I IFN. ActivatedpDCs differentiate into a unique type of mature dendritic cells, which directly regulate the function of T cellsand thus link innate and adaptive immune responses.
