abstractsBy binding to their receptors,retinoids can regulate the proliferation and differentiation of epithelial cells,exert anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects,and are used to treat various kinds of autoimmune inflammatory diseases.They participate in immune defense and anti-inflammatory process by influencing various kinds of cytokines and immunocytes such as neutrophils,monocytes/macrophages,dendritic cells,mast cells,T cells and B cells.In addition,retinoids have been applied in the treatment of many inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis,acne,lichen planus,and so on,and have shown favorable therapeutic effects.
