abstractsGalectin 1 as a member of galectin family is widely found in a variety of tumor tissues and cells, and always shows high expression status. Through the intracellular signal transduction, galectin 1 participates in many processes of tumor development and progression such as tumor cells adhesion, proliferation, apoptosis and so on. Therefore, to better understand the signal transduction mechanisms of galectin 1 in tumor development and progression would be likely to treat galectin1 as a novel target for tumor therapy.
