Construction of Binary Vector pGV4945 of Ribosome-Inactivating Protein Gene from Polygonatum multiflorum
摘要篇首: Ribosome-inactivating proteins (RIPs) have been known to have cytotoxic activity by cleaving a specific adenine residue of 28S rRNA. RIPs can be divided into, type 1 and type 2. Type 2 is a toxic protein that was consisted of two Gal/GalNAc-binding chains, A and B Chains that connected through a disulfide linkage. The A chain of RIP has RNA N-glycosidase activity to cleave a specific adenine base from ribosomal RNA, causing the inactivation of the ribosome and inhibition of protein synthesis. To analysis its function in the transgenic plant we constructed a binary vector carrying the RIPs gene that was cloned from Polygonatum multiflorum.
