Decoding the enzymatic basis for structural diversity of lycibarbarspermidines,a major class of bioactive compounds in wolfberry
摘要In a recent study published in Nature Communica-tions,Professor GAO Hao's team and collaborators identified five novel phenolamide glycosyltransferases(LbUGT1-5)that underpin the structural diversity of lycibarbarspermidines, one class of the key bioactive components in wolf berry[1].This work not only broad-ens the spectrum of glycosyltransferases available for the biosynthesis of these biologically active molecules, but also provides valuable insights into the biochemical basis for assessing the authenticity of wolfberry.
