Novel Hollow Fibre Bioreactors for Growing Bulky Bone Tissue
摘要篇首: Limitations in the size and amount of bone tissue produced in vitro via tissue engineering are mainly due to the lack of nutrient and oxygen supply to the cells some distance away from the surface. Our laboratory has investigated possibilities for growing bulky bone tissue using novel hollow fibre bioreactors. The hollow fibre membranes embedded in the three dimensional scaffold are porous and semi permeable, which can serve the function of arteries and veins.
