摘要Neck pain is a clinical condition caused by a variety of factors,and its prevalence is on the rise as the world ages.Neck pain places a huge financial burden on society and individuals.Modic changes refer to abnormal signals in MRI of the endplate of the vertebral body and the tissues under the endplate.Different types of Modic changes have different histological characteristics.C5-6 segments are the most common,and cervical Modic change type Ⅰ is mostly correlated with cervical pain.There are some controversies about the cause of cervical Modic changes,but many studies have shown that the main pathogenic factors include disc degeneration,inflammation,infection,genetic mutation,etc.Neck pain due to Modic changes in the cervical spine has become an important factor causing disability,but there are fewer studies comparing low back pain due to Modic changes in the lumbar spine.This article summarizes the domestic and international studies on cervical Modic changes in recent years to provide references for clinical treatment of neck pain patients with cervical Modic changes.
