abstractsApplications of molecular diagnostics in clinical microbiology laboratory were introduced in the article,including nucleic acid hybridization,nucleic acid amplification,DNA sequencing,gene chips and mass spectrometry.Molecular diagnostic techniques provide major tools for rapid diagnosis of infectious diseases,molecular epidemiology investigation,rapid identification of microbial pathogens and the study of the pathogenicity and antibiotics resistance.The application of these new technologies,as the complement of traditional culture methods,increases sensitivity,accuracy and diagnostic efficiency of assays.
