Application of serum related indexes and cervical length measurement in prediction for preterm labor

abstractsObjective To investigate the role of serum related indicators and the measurement of cervical length in preterm labor prediction. Methods A total of 230 pregnant women were selected,of which 100 women with preterm birth were allocated to observation group and 130 pregnant women who produced in full term were allocated to control group. Serum C-reactive protein (CRP),interleukin-6 (IL-6),white blood cell (WBC)count, soluble cell adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1)and vaginal B ul-trasound length in two groups were detected and compared. Results There were significant differences in levels of IL-6,CRP,sICAM-1,WBC and cervical length between the two groups (P < 0. 05). The sensitivity of indicator IL-6 ≥13 pg / ml for predicting premature birth was 79% and specificity was 93. 75%,prediction value of positive was 90. 80% and the predictive value of negative was 85. 11%;the sensitivity of indicator sICAM-1≥388 ng / ml in predicting preterm delivery was 69. 00%,specificity was 93. 08%,prediction value of positive was 88. 46%,the predictive value of negative was 79. 61%;the sensitivity of indicator the cervical length ≤21 mm in predicting preterm delivery was 75. 00%,specifici-ty was 90. 77%,prediction value of positive was 86. 21%,the predictive value of negative was 78. 67% . Conclusions The levels of IL-6,sICAM-1 and measurement of cervical length were sensitive indicators for preterm labor predication.
